Mirror, Mirror

We ordered Mirror, Mirror on paper view yesterday. Thank goodness for DVR because my daughter has watched several times! She read the book, so she was really excited about seeing it! It really is a cute movie. It's a great twist on the Snow White fairy tale. If you have kids, I recommend watching it! They'll love it, especially those girls who love happily ever after fairytales...like my Maddie! :)

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for everyday with my children, husband, my life. I'm so thankful to be able to see a sunset like this. And, we could see it everyday because we only live a couple streets down from our beautiful lake.  It was a beautiful sight and I'm so thankful that I get to share these moments watching the sun go down with my family. Madison said, "It's beautiful" Jackson said, "Bye Bye" :)We all talked about the colors and how pretty it was and my husband said
"Only God can make a sunset like that" and hearing my daughter agree saying, "that's right Daddy" was really a special moment for me as a mom.

Kids in the Kitchen :)

Sometimes it's fun just to get a little messy! Madison really likes helping me cook and Jackson loves eating anything! We tried out the new cupcake genius by Debbie Meyer. It really did work great! We filled the cupcakes with chocolate frosting, frosted the tops and put silver sprinkles on them too. They sure are yummy!! :)

A Southern Staple

Collards are a staple of Southern Cooking!

If you're Southern by the Grace of God you know that not only is it a religion to have collards every New Years Day, along with black eyed peas and cornbread, but it's perfect for a Sunday supper too! Sundays are my families favorite day. It's always a relaxing day ended with a southern comfort meal. Today the sweet, smoked smell of Pork Butt is swarming the outside of the house (and seeping through...mmmm). Soon we'll be sitting down to eat BBQ pork, collards, mac n cheese, fresh corn on the cob, conch peas and of course that sweet cornbread we use to slop up that good 'pot liquor' from the collards and conch peas.....washed down with a glass of sweet tea. Mmmm, don't get much better than that! Except probably topping it all off will be my Maw Maw's wonderful recipe for Chocolate sheet cake!!

When things get Muddy...

The perfect end to our date night :)

Sometimes things get a little muddy around here.....So this is what we do!

Aww---Kisses!

 Our Mudhole!!!

Throwing some mud is always a good time!! :D

Date Night at 'The Pocket'

Every couple of weeks my husband and I get to go out on a date. Whether it's staying in and watching a movie, going fishing, or going out to eat. It's nice to get to spend some alone time with each. You get caught up in life, babies, laundry, cleaning.......so on and so on....that sometimes you need a break and need some time together. My mom called and wanted to keep the kids Saturday night, so that meant...Date night for us!! Whoo-Whoo!! :) We decided to meet my Dad at 'Cherry Pocket'! Cherry Pocket is a steak & seafood shack on the lake.
Along with it's amazing food, I love it's old rustic charm!
If you haven't been there, you're definitely missing out and should try it, you'll be addicted!

I'm Ready!

Dad's Tuna Tataki!! He was nice enough to share because
we'd hadn't tried it before and Wow-it was awesome! We will be ordering it next time!

Once again dinner at Cherry Pocket was AmaZing!!

VBS at Home!

Madison stayed with Maw Maw & Paw Paw part of last week. The plan was for the whole week because she'd be going to Vacation Bible School at their church. She made it half way through the week and ended up sick :( A little stomach bug began floating around bible school and my little mini me caught it. She came home a little early, which was perfectly ok with me because I missed her so much, although I hated she was sick. She was disappointed that she missed all the craft time and the performance of all the things they learned. Yesterday Maw Maw & Paw Paw came by for a visit. They brought with them all the crafts she had missed out on! A lady from their church thought Maddie would enjoy finishing them! How thoughtful! :) So, today we had our own little VBS during Jackson's nap time! :)

Summer Bible Study

I enjoy following Eisy Morgan. She has great beauty tips and hair tutorials for busy Mom's! {Which I love and need! Ha!} And, it's also nice connecting with a fellow Christian mom and hearing her stories of faith, triumphs and struggles. Just a reminder that we all are the same. Reading what she shares gives me hope and strength. She's started a Summer blogging bible study following the Beth Moore blog. They will be reviewing, every other Tuesday, the book 'Nehemiah' by Kelly Minter.  So, I joined the bible study group. I'm really looking forward to it! Meeting new blogging friends and learning and sharing the word of God. I believe it's going to be a great experience! Sort of a time for myself to focus on the inner me. Us busy mom's are always selflessly taking care of everyone else that we forget that every now and then we need a little 'me time'. Not just the time to paint your toes or pluck your eyebrows! ;) A way to listen to our thoughts, wants, needs or desires. I hope my friends and family will join me.
It starts June 26th and runs through August 7th. It's a 6 week study done over 12 weeks.

Join us in this study and visit Eisy Morgan for more details and where to purchase the book.

Bicycles, Bubbles & Sidewalk Chalk!

It's such a beautiful, breezy, sunny day outside today!
We got some sun yesterday from being in the pool, so we're taking a break from that today. We went in the front yard with our sweet teas and both the kids played with bubbles and Barbie thought it was so fun to chase and chomp the bubbles! Madison rode her bike while Jackson attempted to ride her scooter...more or less just dragging it around. Then we all enjoyed the sidewalk chalk. Jackson dumped some chalk in a bucket of water and the kids thought it was so neat that it started bubbling. Chalk absorbing the water ;) It was a perfect day with my babies!
