Our Homeschool/Play Room

I'm not completely finished with arranging it how I want it yet. I haven't really had time to work on it like I want to. During the day we use this room for school. It's working pretty well and is a lot better than having everything sorted on the dining room table :)

 

After school hours it then becomes their play room!

 

 

Happy Anniversary!

 

 

 

We celebrated our 8 year anniversary January 15, 2013! We took our babies out for dinner :)

Baby....It's COLD outside!

Ok, I have found out I enjoy no weather less than 20 degrees....Here lately those days are rare! The kids however are still loving the snow. So, Mommy always looses when it comes to the beggings of going outside to play. Most of the time, it takes longer to get ready than playing time!

 

Mommy & Daughter Time...

Today Madison asked me if she could do my makeup. Of course I couldn't say no :) Anyway, dark eyeshadow, powder and some bright lipstick later I was all dolled up! Oh, and she also gave me the works by brushing my hair and fixing it for me...

 

 

Then, Mommy dolled Maddie up a little too :)

 

And, Jackson was being a little ham...

 

And, here we are all done up! I love having that Mommy/Daughter time, even if it's only for a few minutes! :)

 

 

Farming & Charlotte's Web Unit

We started our Farming & Charlotte's Web unit after Christmas break. Madison is really enjoying learning about the farm life. She's also reading Charlotte's Web. She loves this movie and book! She's had Charlotte's Web read to her a few times, but this is the first time she's reading the book on her own. Her homework is to read a chapter a night. The next morning I ask her a few questions about the chapter she read. The Charlotte's Web unit is on 3rd grade level which is awesome! She's doing great and breezing right through it! So far she's wrote a report on E.B. White, the author of the book and has made a farm life collage. She also interviewed her Daddy (the former chicken farmer from Alabama) ;)

 

 

Here's Madison's Farm Life collage. Using local newspapers and magazines, she clipped out pictures and words and glued them to a poster board. Then I had her write by the pictures explaining what they are.

Another One Bites the Dust....

And, another one goes....and another one goes....another one bites the dust!

 

Another 1.5lbs is gone for a total of 2.5lbs!!

This is my 3rd day of Visi!!

 



Motivation is the key!

This is my 2nd day back on Visi. Yes, back on. I 1st started back in October. I took it for over a month and I've lost (& kept off!) 20lbs. The holidays completely got me sidetracked and I'm now getting back on it! I have to say, I love this stuff!

 

Anyway, in 2 days I've lost 1lb! I think that's pretty good.

 

My appetitie has already decreased and I've found myself craving water!

 

I want to start exercising to really stimulate weightloss.

I'm thinking about trying Yoga. I want something I can do at home because it's just hard to get out by myself. If anyone knows a good at home Yoga program or Dvd let me know!

 



Shed hunting

None of us have really been into shed hunting before. But, so far we've found a few good sheds! Here's the latest that Clay and Barbie (our chocolate lab) found...

Madison made these Alabama signs for us to use while we were cheering on our team! I had to post the picture to show ya'll :) I love seeing my kids so interested is football! I love it!

That had to be such an embarrassment for any fan, player or coach for ND. But, really what did you expect to happen? When you play no name teams, that makes you a no name team!!

Loving Snow!

Ice Skating

Maddie and I went with our new friends Traci, Collin & Cole to Williston the other day. We visited the pet store & the recreation center. Madison got to ice skate with Collin & Cole! They play hockey, so they can get around really good on the rink. This was Maddie's first time ever ice skating! She held onto a chair and with each time around the rink she got faster and faster!! She says, next time we go she's trying it without the chair :)

Happy New Year Family & Friends!!!

 

 

We spent last night ringing in the New Year like we 'try' to do every year....watching the ball drop and hanging out with the kiddos! I say 'try' because normally the kids have fallen asleep by 8:30, I'm in bed by 10pm and my hubby is soon to follow. But, this year was a little different! Jackson fell asleep around 9:30 and Maddie stayed up until 11pm. Luckily for Maddie it was 12am Eastern time, so we wished her a Happy New Year and gave her smooches!! My hubby and I actually made it to 12:30am Central time! All of us watched the New Year festivities on tv, laughed, danced and had some little fun snacks too! It was a wonderful night and what better way to ring in 2013 than with the ones you love :)

 

 

Today the black eyed peas are cooking and cornbread will be too! Later this evening we're having some new friends over with their kids to join us for supper. The kids will laugh, play and sled and I'm sure it'll be a great Jan 1, 2013!!
