A is for Awards!!

This morning was the 1st grade Awards Ceremony. Madison was presented with 2 awards. The Citizenship award and Honor Roll award!!! She has maintained honor roll ALL year long! She is in the highest classes and has worked hard achieving this! Reading is her favorite subject. I believe she could stay in the library for hours! She also loves Math, Science, Art & Dance! This year has just flown by. We are so blessed that she's had an amazing teachers, Mrs. Polston, Mrs. Lopez (Math) and Mrs. Richards (Reading). She also met her Best friend, Grace. The two of them have became so close, like sisters. They're both looking forward to a summer full of fun together! We are so proud of our little 1st grader!!!

Don't drink the water in Mexico!

My Dad went on a business trip to Mexico a couple of weeks ago. Apparently he'd forgotten that you're not supposed to drink the water! Needless to say he got very ill, during his stay he did manage to successfully complete his job and take some beautiful pictures of the ranch farmland!

Splish Splash!

We had our first swim of the season this evening! Over the weekend Clay cleaned the pool and got it all ready. With the tropical storm and rainy weather we had on Memorial Day, we weren't able to get in. But, this evening the sun came through and the kids were ready! Even Barbie was excited! Here's some photo's of our swim!

Corrie’s Kitchen Spa: Citrus Salt Body Scrub

This would be a perfect gift!!

A wonderful exfoliant and full body moisturizer for use in the shower. Leave a jar near your outdoor shower at the beach to add a healthy glow to dull dry skin.

Servings: 2
Prep Time: 5 min
Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

1/2 cup sea salt
1/2 cup sweet almond oil
(can substitute light olive oil or vegetable oil)
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon orange zest

Directions

In a medium dry bowl, combine all ingredients making sure to not let any water touch them as it will dissolve the salt. Pour mixture into an airtight container and store in a cool dry place.
To use: Just before showering, swirl ingredients together with your fingertips to mix. Clean body completely and just before exiting shower, apply Citrus Salt Body Scrub to body in a firm circular scrubbing motion with hands or a soft washcloth. Rinse off the mixture and pat body dry with a clean towel.
