We are halfway through our fall unit and it's going great! Last week we studied pumpkins and this week it's apples. All of the subjects are themed around these wonderful fruits! She's been learning about the different types of sentences and their punctuation. She can label apple and pumpkins and their lifecycles. She's wrote short stories on 'how to pick a pumpkin' and later this week will write a short story about 'my favorite apple flavor'. We've also been reviewing from our last unit, adverbs. Our math has focused a lot on place values, pumpkin seed measurements, adding & subtracting hundred's. On the funner side of things, we've dissected a pumpkin, painted pumpkins, toasted pumpkin seeds, went to a pumpkin patch and made pumpkin bread! This week we're going to do apple stamping, enjoy juicy apples and dissect an apple! The following weekend we will be going to an apple orchard and picking our very own apples!!
